The SH8 from Vlorë. Border formalities at Hani i Hotit or Kakavijë need a passport and a Green Card — carry the paper one.

Where I slept
Rooms in Dhërmi from 25 € in June, double that in August. Guesthouses on the pass itself are cheaper and quieter.

Riding experience
Surface is decent but unpredictable — expect gravel, goats and the occasional truck cutting the bend. Ride it as if something is coming.

The vibe
Hospitality that riders rank with Turkey's. You will be offered coffee by people who will refuse your money.

What it cost
Fuel 1.60 €/l, room 25 €, a full meal 5–8 €. Thirty euros covers a comfortable day.
