Every piece
passes through hands.
We do not print, we do not cast in hundreds. We throw on the wheel piece by piece — that is why no two vessels are alike.
Utility stoneware for kitchen and table: mugs, bowls, plates, teapots. We glaze with ash and celadon glazes, fire in a kiln at 1,240 °C. What comes out is durable, dishwasher-safe, and lasts a lifetime.
Birth of a vessel.
Centering
The lump of clay must sit exactly in the center of the wheel. Without this, the pot will wobble. The hardest and most important step.
Pulling the walls
With wet hands we pull the wall upward. The lump becomes a cylinder — thinner and taller with each pull.
Shaping
From inside and outside we open the belly and neck. Here the cylinder becomes a bowl, a mug, or a vase.
Cutting off
The finished shape is cut off with a wire and removed from the wheel for slow drying. The fire will do the rest.
Six steps that cannot be rushed.
Preparation & centering
Knead the clay, remove air and center it on the wheel.
Pulling
Pull the shape on the wheel, turn the bottom (trimming) at leather-hard stage.
Drying
Let it dry slowly to bone-dry so the pot does not crack.
Bisque firing
First firing strengthens the bisque to hold the glaze.
Glazing
Apply ash and celadon glazes by dipping or brushing.
Glaze firing
Second firing melts the glaze into glass — color appears only in the fire.
Try it with your own hands.

The workshop is run by one potter and one old kick wheel.
I trained as a stove fitter, but I stuck with pottery. For twenty years I have been throwing utility ceramics that you want to hold every day — not behind glass. I teach courses because the joy of a first bowl of your own is contagious.
We can arrange
a course or a piece.
Do you want a course, a custom set, or a replacement mug for your favorite set? Write to me, I'll get back to you within two days.
