Hand-glazed tiles
A tiled stove is not a fireplace — it stores heat in a fireclay core and radiates it slowly for hours. We throw, glaze and fire every tile by hand, then build the stove to the room and the flue. An honest tiled stove outlives the house it stands in.

We design the stove to the room, choose the shape, glaze colour and calculate the output.
We throw, glaze and fire the tiles in the kiln so they keep their colour for years.
We build the fireclay heat-storing core and flues, then case it in tiles.
We connect it to the flue, point the joints and dry the stove slowly on the first firing.

I build stoves myself, from the design to the first firing — not in a firm turning out units. I throw and glaze the tiles so I know what I'm setting. An honest tiled stove can be taken apart and rebuilt years later; a cracked tile I replace. One stove done properly beats three done in a hurry.
