Who We Are

We don't dance stories. We dance what remains unspoken — tension, fall, breath, proximity.

MOTUS is an independent company that has been searching for the boundary between dance, theater, and silence since 2014. Without points, without instructions. Just the body in space and you, who are watching.

Birth \/ Anima

From silence, the first movement is born. Two bodies that still don't know they belong together, and yet they search for each other in the emptiness of the stage.

Return \/ Redux

Company

Ten bodies, one breath.

MOTUS is led by choreographer Klára Do, a graduate of HAMU and P.A.R.T.S. in Brussels. Over the past ten years, a group of dancers has gathered around her, who don't dance together — they think together.

We rehearse in residence at Studio ALTA, collaborate with composers and lighting designers, and premiere one major production every season. We wouldn't be here without grants — thank you to those who support dance.
