From pulp to a dry sheet.

Pulp
We beat cotton rag into a fine pulp in water.

Pulling
We draw a sheet on the screen, forming the deckle edge and watermark.

Drying
We press the sheet and dry it slowly so it stays flat.
Handmade cotton paper, bespoke calligraphy and letterpress. A letter, an announcement or a book you pass on — not delete.

Handmade paper is not printed whiteness from a press. It is drawn on a screen from cotton pulp, it has an irregular deckle edge, a watermark and a texture the pen can feel. It lasts centuries because there is no acid in it. You write on paper like this differently — slower, and with thought.
Paper from rag, acid-free, for centuries.
An irregular hand edge — you know a real sheet.
Your mark in the very fibre, visible against the light.

I make both the paper and the letters one at a time. Pulp, screen, deckle — then a pen that moves differently on handmade paper. I write slowly, because ink cannot be erased; every stroke must land the first time. Rather fewer sheets done well than a pile in a hurry. For every job I keep a sample and a record.
